Ex-KAI boss’ wife remanded over alleged killing of 2 children

LAGOS—Wife of former Kick against Indiscipline, KAI Marshal, Alhaja Rabiatu Oyenuga, has been remanded in prison custody by an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, following a charge of alleged killing of two children and injuring their mother in a motor accident.
The accused, was arraigned on a five-count charge of dangerous driving and unlawful damage leading to the death of David Lawani  (4yrs) and Tobilola (4months), and inflicting bodily harm on their mother,  Mrs. Ibiyemi Lawani.
According to the charge, Mrs. Oyenuga was said to have committed the offence in Patience Street, Ebute-Meta, Lagos, while driving a Mercury four-wheel car with number plate LAGOS FR 902 LND.
Prosecuting police officer, Mr. Emmanuel Essien, said the offences were punishable under Sections 28(1), 27, 27,28 and 23 of RTA Cap. 124, Vol. 6, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
Magistrate M. Olubi granted the accused bail for N500,000 with two sureties, who must provide evidence of three years tax payment to Lagos State Government, reside within the magisterial district and show proof of means of livelihood.
The case has been adjourned till October 26, for further hearing.
